Known by the nickname “Film Shooting Man” Yunus Şevik completed his primary education in his hometown of Konya before moving to Istanbul with his family, where he continued his school and life journey. Between 2003 and 2006, he worked as an extra in various films and TV series as a hobby. He enrolled in Newport International University for Business Administration and Anadolu University for Economics. In 2007, while continuing his education, he published a book titled “A Terrifying Book,” which he wrote over three years. In the early years of university, he became interested in filmmaking after being influenced by a friend who was creating editing and animation projects. In 2007, while studying business, he directed his first short film. After taking the university entrance exam at the end of the 2007 academic year, he was accepted into Beykent University’s Radio and TV Programming department. Dreaming of becoming a director, he left his Business Administration and Economics studies to focus on Radio and TV. By 2015, he worked as an assistant director in various TV series and films. He began competing in festivals with the short films he directed. In the same year, his short film “The Scent of Sadness” was screened in the short film category at the Cannes Film Festival. The following year, he took on the roles of screenwriter, producer, and director for the first time in the internet series “Declaration of Property.” In 2018, he directed his first feature film, Kulyas: The Cost of the Curse. Yunus Şevik’s directorial career continued with Korku Takvimi (2022), I Want to Live (2023), and Kulyas 2 (2024).
